Oasby was our first competition in October, where Undine was 4th in the BE100, and Trasimeno jumped clear around the cross country. On the second day, Haarlem had an outing before his trip to Pau and jumped a careful clear across country. Godington Absinthe (by Hannibal) was also at this event and jumped a double clear in the Intermediate.

Competition News - Sept 2012

We had a lovely week in Ireland at Ballindenisk CCI3* in Co Cork where Haarlem turned in a clear cross country round inside the time, and was rewarded with 5th place. Attention was on the youngsters when we got home, and a trip to Berkshire College of Agriculture saw Umbria and Trasimeno both get placed in their respective sections.

Competition News - Sept 2012

West Wilts was another sunny outing for the younger horses, where a 27.5 dressage score helped Undine to 2nd place in the BE100, continuing her very good record at affiliated results. Trasimeno and his new young jockey Sarah turned in a 25.5 dressage score, but met with bad luck in the showjumping to end their chances of success this time around.

We are delighted to report that Godington Utah (Contis x Roland) became the first colt for several years to be approved in Britain. He joins his two sisters, both Premium and Champion mares, among Uppsala's wonderful breeding achievements. He impressed the judges with his correct conformation, brilliant jumping and exceptional temperament.

A double clear for Haarlem in the Advanced at Wellington meant that he finished in 8th place overall at this new event. An uncharacteristic off day for both Contis and Umbria meant that neither horse progressed beyond the dressage phase, where they scored 35.5 and 35.9 in their respective sections despite their obvious discomfort in the heat.

Milton Keynes saw half sisters Undine and Umbria finish in 5th and 6th place in their respective sections. Both Premium mares led after the dressage and turned in fast, clear XC over a course that caused lots of problems.  Trasimeno also went clear XC in the 5yo class, and Godington Absinthe put in a double clear to finish 7th in the Novice for his owner/rider.

Competition News - Aug 2012

The stud's working pupil Sarah was thrown in at the deep end, partnering Undine in the Harley Equestrian Intro Championships at Aston le Walls. A very good dressage score of 34.3 and some careful jumping saw them secure 10th place in the final rankings, picking up a prize for the youngest rider in the top ten on the way.

Competition News - Aug 2012

August saw us return to Quainton Stud with the younger horses for the combined training. Undine's 67.7% in the dressage meant she was in 1st place after that phase, but an unlucky 8f in the jumping meant she was placed 2nd overall. Trasimeno's 66.5% saw him second after the dressage but a good jumping round gave him annother win to add to his tally.

Competition News - July 2012

Aston le Walls gave the more experienced horses an outing. Despite the boggy dressage arena, all horses were in the 30s, with Contis' 30.9 leaving him in 3rd place after the dressage. Barcelona jumped a beautiful steady double clear in the Intermediate, and Contis and Umbria were both clear across country in the Intermediate and Novice respectively.

Competition News - July 2012

The cancellation of Glanusk ODE meant another Quainton visit on the 14th for the Arena Eventing. Trasimeno once again wowed in the dressage arena, but was a little overawed by the lengthy jumping phase and unfortunately lost some concentration. Undine jumped a smooth round over all 20 fences and was placed second overall.

Competition News - July 2012

Quainton unaffiliated combined training on the 5th gave the youngsters another opportunity to show off their dressage and showjumping skills. Undine took second place in her section with a N27 score of 68.2%, and Trasimeno won his section with a very pleasing N30 test. Godington Berenece also had an outing and scored 60.6% in her class.

Competition News - July 2012

The first competition of July saw Trasimeno and Undine at Solihull ODE. Both horses were a little green but Trasimeno turned in a leading dressage score of 28.6 before a baby mistake across country let to an unlucky 20 penalties putting him out of contention. Undine jumped very well around the XC course clear for a top ten placing.

Competition News - June 2012

With our event at Milton Keynes rained off, we swiftly re-routed to Bury Farm for showjumping. Umbria was clear in her first class but distracted in her second and touched a couple of poles. Contis jumped a lovely double clear in the 1.10m Open, where Barcelona was also clear in the first round but had an unlucky pole down in the jump off.

Competition News - Luhmühlen CCI**** June 2012

Haarlem's first outing at 4* level was a lovely week at an delightfully relaxed and hospitable event. Haarlem performed a reasonable dressage test and completed a tough cross country which saw many combinations drop out. We were thrilled when he went on to jump a beautiful clear round in the showjumping on the final day of this top event.

Our first June outing took us back to Little Downham again, where Contis was in second place after the dressage and jumped a steady double clear to come 10th in the ON. PM Barcelona also jumped a careful double clear in the OI class, and PM Umbria knocked a couple of poles in the showjumping but then flew around the cross country clear in the Novice.

Competition News - May 2012

Little Downham saw Contis showjump clear and Barcelona clear across country. Haarlem glanced off a difficult corner XC, but otherwise had a good warm-up at his first Advanced this year. Houghton International brought clear XC runs for all three, over testing tracks that caught plenty out. Haarlem did his best CIC3* to date, with good dressage and double clear.

May has seen the arrival of two foals at the stud - a super strong filly by Godington Hannibal out of Godington Tallulah, and a beautiful black filly by the Hanoverian stallion De Niro (Donnerhall), out of Godington Abyssinia (Gribaldi). Both sets of mothers and daughters are doing very well and enjoying the sunny May weather.

Amon-Ra (Pernambuco x Godington Alaska) coped well with the pressure at his first outing at Addington Premier League, where he scored a respectable 69% in the Shearwater potential international dressage horse qualifier, partnered by Tom Graham. Amon Ra's schooling is progressing well and he shows great promise for dressage as well as over fences.

May saw another trip to Aston where PM Undine kept a clean sheet XC to finish in 5th place, and Trasimeno completed a training round clear across country. Haarlem had a double clear in the OI for his first outing this year - he has been kept fit by the addition of swimming as part of his training regime at a time when bad weather has limited our outings.

Competition News - April 2012

The eventing season started off with a run for Godington Trasimeno and PM Godington Undine at Aston le Walls unaffiliated event, where both horses jumped round the cross country course clear. This event was followed by a run of cancellations due to the weather, leading to much frustration for all concerned.

Some of the competition horses have had a pre-season outing to do some dressage at Aston le Walls, and we are pleased to announce that Godington Trasimeno was placed in his first ever dressage test. We have received news of one of the horses we bred from her new owner, and are pleased to say that Godington Primavera is now going very well in the dressage arena and has gained 14 BD points in very few outings with her rider. Her BD record shows that she has not yet been out of the top two places in any of her classes.
