An outstanding stock getter, Hannibal
already has two graded stallion sons, three elite performance tested
daughters and six premium-graded daughters as well as the Champion
Riding Horse 2003, Reserve Champion
Part-bred 2004, Champion Part-bred 2005, Champion Colt Foal 2005 and
winning Colt Foal 2007. In 2009 his daughter out of a TB mare was
Reserve Grading Champion and his niece was Mare Performance Test
Champion and Reserve Supreme Show Champion. More daughters were
premium graded and became Reserve Champions of the grading in 2012,
2015 and 2016, and another daughter was premium graded, Grading
Champion, Performance Test Champion and Reserve
Supreme Champion in 2019, with another daughter becoming Free
Jumping Champion in 2019. His first premium-graded daughter’s
first foal was
the Champion Foal in 2015, her second foal became 2017 Champion Foal
and Reserve Supreme Show Champion, and her third foal was Champion Foal
in 2019. She herself became Veteran Champion, Broodmare Champion,
Best British Bred and Supreme Champion in 2019.
In 2008, Hannibal's
first premium-graded daughter made the 2012 World Class pathway, was
placed at Weston Park CCI2* (now CCI3*) and qualified 3* (now 4*). His
full-brother was
placed 4th at Weston Park CCI2* (now CCI3*), 5th at Ballindenisk CCI3*
(now CCI4*) and competed
at CCI4* (now CCI5*) at Luhmühlen and Pau in 2012. His 7 year old son
out of a
Maestro mare launched his international career with an impressive
performance at Osberton CCI1* (now CCI2*), moving up to two-star (now
three-star) in 2015 and winning his first dressage outing at Medium.
Two further
full-brothers out of this same mare are carving out dressage careers,
with multiple wins at Novice, Elementary and Medium. His 6 year old
daughter started eventing with a BE90 placing on her second run
and BE100 placings just weeks later, followed by a string of BE100
placings and a win in 2016.
Hannibal's
sire Roland was himself three times Champion
Trakehner Stallion and produced numerous winners in hand and
at top-level under saddle. Hannibal's dam
Godington Havel V was a Premium and State Premium
mare, Performance Test Champion and winning showjumper with
a mouthwatering performance pedigree.
Hannibal
himself is an all-round performer with tremendous natural
jumping ability, outstanding temperament and Trakehner charm.
He won his NASTA Performance Test as a four-year-old at Class
1 Elite and rapidly mastered his chosen sport of eventing.
Under Swedish international Dag Albert, he competed at Varseveld,
Le Lion d'Angers, Malmo, Windsor, Punchestown, Saumur, Blenheim,
Fontainebleau, Luhmühlen and the World Cup Final at Pau.
Hannibal was on the short-list for the Swedish
Olympic Team in 2004.
Hannibal
is a versatile and successful sire, reliably passing on his
temperament, movement and looks. He has produced champions
from every crop and from a wide variety of mares. In 2004
Godington Stud received the Supporters of British Breeding
Certificate of Recognition for Hannibal's
contribution to British breeding. Hannibal
has worldwide breeding approval from the Trakehner Verband
as well as approval from the AES and SHBGB, all full WBFSH
member stud-books, and Weatherby's NTR. He was awarded Elite status by Trakehners UK in 2016.
